FART: a Fire Alarm Response Team.There's an apocryphal tale that the Metropolitan Police's Special Patrol Group was going to be called the Fast Action Response Team until someone noticed the initials. With this in mind, something didn't smell right about this one. Surely no-one would actually use this as an acronym in good faith. Sad to say - they have.
Bearing in mind that a fire alarm at a hotel is a very serious and complex incident to deal with, it goes without saying that there would be a team of people charged with the duty of making sure all goes well. According to the job advertisement, if you wish to work in maintenance and repair at the Sheraton Overland Park, you will be expected to "Perform all duties required as Fire Alarm Response Team." You'll have a lot of other work to do, but knowing you're part of a FART will give you a warm feeling.
