New City of Gold?
- 09/08/06 - A team from Yale University has discovered a long lost Mayan city in Northern Guatemala.
‘Site Q’ had long been hypothesised to exist, but numerous expeditions had failed to uncover its whereabouts. However, deep within the jungles of the Peten region researchers happened across a panel of ancient hieroglyphic texts, dating back over a thousand years, marking the spot.
Sadly there have been no reports of kidnapped children, antiquated curses or daredevil archaeological shenanigans - so it can’t be quite as Indiana Jones as we first thought.
