The Rise Of Spray-on Condoms
By Gemma Brittle
Too big? Too small? Having problems with condom sizes? Well fear not, the Germans are giving the idea of the spray-on plasters a more sexual nature: spray-on condoms.
The hope is that they will improve peoples’ sex lives, giving extra comfort. It should also be just as safe, if not safer, as a normal condom as it should fit more securely and not slip. “We’re trying to develop the perfect condom for men that’s suited to every size of penis.” inventor Jan Krause told Reuters, “We’re very serious” he added, possibly noting one less-than-mature hack sniggering into his coffee.

Men will insert their penises into the spray can where, on demand, it will be coated with a rubber condom. Latex will be sprayed from all sides of the can; "We call it the '360 degree procedure' -- once round and from top to bottom. It's a bit like a car wash". The new protection will then be ready to perform in about 5 seconds.
However, we can’t get too excited yet as further research is required into ensuring the latex is evenly spread when sprayed, as well as optimising the vulcanization process. It is hoped that the spray-on sheathes will be available to buy in a variety of strengths and colours by 2008 at a cost of about 20 euros for the can, then 10 euros for the replacement cartridges which will each hold about 20 applications.
