It turns out there are even more unlikely publications than The Journal of Unlikely Science.
Every Thursday, our very own Dr Steer turns his attention to another weird science journal.

This week: THE JOURNAL OF NEGATIVE RESULTS

Name – You spent 3 years of your life lovingly crafting the finest experiment known to man. The mice had never been better trained, the computers better programmed and the knives better sharpened. Yet for all your hard work, Lady Luck shat on your results. This journal is the only place left to go.
Click to enlarge Front cover – Being an online journal there's no front page. But there is a nice relaxing logo that will help soothe the tension away.
Off-the-wallness – Not very off the wall really - all of my results always came out negative it's a fact of scientific life. The only difference is that I have no compunction to tell everyone else about them.
Usefulness – If you're a scientist then it's got to be essential reading, otherwise you'll head up the same blind alley as lots of other poor buggers. If you're not a scientist then chances are that nothing would interest you less.
Impressiveness – "I did an experiment. It didn't work." Not good.
             -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall - Handy, but hardly inspiring.

Impact factor: It's the short stop at the end of a long drop when yet another negative result has forced you over the edge. Literally.
