Peculiar Periodicals

It turns out there are even more unlikely publications than The Journal of Unlikely Science.
Every Thursday, our very own Dr Steer turns his attention to another improbable periodical.

This week: PRECISION AGRICULTURE

Name – There's no room in the world for your slapdash sowing anymore and we won't be putting up with any wayward reaping neither thank you very much. This is precision agriculture. These are crops for the 21st century.
Click to enlarge Front cover – Baah, that's no good. Sure it's got a decent little picture, but that's not enough. Must try harder. I think something like this would be much better (click here).
Off-the-wallness – These are the guys who predict citrus harvests from planes and wheat death from the other side of the world. They're my new heroes.
Usefulness – These guys are at the forefront of feeding the world... or at least feeding cows so that they can feed the world. Mmmmm, steak.
Impressiveness – This is no fly-by-night, airy-fairy farming we're dealing with. This is Precision Agriculture: seed potatoes fired from over a thousand miles away planting themselves to within 3 mm of their target field. Sweet.
             -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall With military style precision it storms into the upper reaches of the table. It's definitely a grower.

Impact factor: When those long-distance, shock and awe clementines start raining down you will know the might of Precision Agriculture.
