Boy Screams Chickens To Death

Life holds new fear if you're a chicken - apparently you can be killed by a child's screaming.
A four year-old boy has been found responsible for the death of hundreds of chickens after being scared by a dog.
The boy, from the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu, was accompanying his father delivering bottles of gas when he was frightened by a barking dog. According to a neighbour, the boy bent over the henhouse window and screamed for a long time.
A court decided that the screaming was "the only unexpected abnormal sound" and so caused 443 chickens to trample each other to death in fear. The boy's father was ordered to pay 1800 yuan (£118) to the owner of the chickens.
Chickens of the world, beware. And fathers of abnormally loud 4 year-old boys might want to steer them away from farmyards as well.
