Oprah

By Mark Steer

Oprah in glorious techni-crop-circle format.
It's mind boggling, it's bizarre and, to be quite frank, it's deeply disturbing. Someone not far from Phoenix, Arizona has really thought about this. They've sat at home in the chicken pen and plotted - how best to show their appreciation for the queen of the chat shows, Oprah Winfrey? Why, draw her likeness in a corn field of course.

Let's not even start to contemplate the logistics of the operation - it would just be too much to handle. Oprah, however, isn't the only television phenomenon to have been immortalised on Google Earth in crop form. Not far from the Canadian border in Washington is a statement of worship for pseudo-scientific forensic thriller series, CSI (see image).

You can find this on Google Earth, or probably any other of those satellity sites, at the following grid reference: 33o 13' 33.10'' N; 111o 35' 49.78'' W.
