Magic mushrooms

Magic mushrooms

By Dr. Kinoko.
University of Osaka, Japan.

Back in July 2006, an exciting new fungus related discovery was made - we celebrate Dr Kinoko's ground breaking work.

Here, I present amazing new pictures of genetically engineered mushrooms grown in sake-enriched soil. A mutation of the SUM-0 gene causes the mushrooms to behave in a bizarre manor when left to grow in the alcoholic loam. Over several nights they stacked up to produce a rather impressive pagoda-style tower, not seen before in the fungal world.

They don’t taste too great, butt-on the other hand, if you don’t have mush room, these could be the fungi for you; there’s a morel in there somewhere. These are also popular for leprechauns, gnomes or tiny people with high-rise pretensions.
