Giraffe Aids Circus Escape
By William Scribe
Reports have surfaced that a group of circus animals, aided by a giraffe, made a daring bid for freedom on Monday. Fifteen camels, two zebras and several llamas and a clutch of pot-bellied pigs hot footed it from a visiting circus in Amsterdam after considerable damage was inflicted on their enclosure."We suspect that a giraffe kicked open a pen," Dutch police said in a statement.
The selfless quadruped was too tall to make good his own escape, but cleared the way for his fellow herbivores to fly from their captors.
Unfortunately for the escapees they were quickly rounded up and returned to the circus. Suggestions that one of the llamas was last seen riding a motorbike heading for Switzerland have been strenuously denied by officials.
Whether any action will be taken against 'Che Giraffa' has yet to be decided.
