Don't Drink Sleep & Drive

The Journal of Sleep has just published shocking new research that strongly suggests that if you combine a lack of sleep with alcohol, your ability to drive is adversely affected.
Participants in the study who had been awake for between 18-21 hrs had trouble with lane discipline and speed control following even a small intake of alcohol.
The resultant bad driving behaviour is also predicted to increase the risk of a serious
vehicular accident. The findings seems quite clear - driving when tired is dangerous; drinking and driving is dangerous; driving when tired having just come out of the pub is really dangerous.The Government is going to have to act on this evidence. The least they could do is to ban drink driving; oh, hang on…
