The Cutest Car In The World
By Mark Steer
It looks like something that you might find in a Kinder Surprise and has more gadgets and widgets and twiddly bits than is really necessary. Could Nissan's Pivo 2 be the best concept car ever? Quite possibly.Unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show, which is currently ongoing, the Pivo 2 is the epitome of everything I would expect from a Japanese concept car, barring an enormous Hello Kitty transfer on the roof.
It's got state of the art technology all the way from the wheels to the dashboard, it's got the most cutesy design you could imagine and it's got a little robot that'll help you navigate through city streets and restore your pluck if the rush hour traffic is getting you down.
A quick run down of some of Pivo 2's finer qualities:
- A cabin that swivels 360o.
- Wheels that adjust their position to adjust for inertia when accelerating, decelerating and going round corners.
- Wheels that can also rotate so you can drive sideways - but it doesn't feel like you're driving sideways because you can rotate the cabin, so it feels as though you're alway going forwards.
- Bubbly design.
- A navigational robot that can tell what mood you're in.
- It can dance... well sort of sway from side to side (video)
