Peculiar Periodicals

It turns out there are even more unlikely publications than The Journal of Unlikely Science.
Every Thursday, our very own Dr Steer turns his attention to another improbable periodical.

This week: INTERNATIONAL BREASTFEEDING JOURNAL

Name – Can you believe it? A whole journal dedicated to getting the most out of your breasts. Oh happy days! The implicit assumption that babies will be involved somewhere down the line is a bit of a negative though.
Click to enlarge Front cover – This is an online journal, so no cover to speak of, but I do quite like the logo. Although if you look closely there's something not quite right about that face, something ever so slightly sinister.
Off-the-wallness – One day someone sat down and thought "I'm going to start a new journal. It's going to be about lactation. It'll be a milky wonder." I like that.
Usefulness – Peppermint water can be used as an effective treatment for nipple cracking. Usefulness proven.
Impressiveness – Helping the next generation to grow up big, strong and healthy. How much more can you ask for?

Overall Stop sniggering at the back, there's nothing to laugh about. It's a completely natural and beautiful act.

Impact factor: I remember being eight years old when my Mum's friend suddenly whipped out a boob and started to feed her baby. That had an impact.

More journal jocularity to come next Thursday.  Until then why not find a phunny phobia?
